Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment group, announced following the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI) meeting at the G7 Summit that African Heads of State, governments, investment champions, the private sector, philanthropies, and development finance partners will again be recognized for their NDC investment mobilization initiatives by the 2024 Africa investor (Ai) NDC Investment Awards.

The hunt is on for the public and private sector institutions that are contributing most to private capital mobilization and developing bankable and investable Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) projects in Africa. Africa as a continent, needs to mobilise $3trn in order to meet its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) projects by 2030.

The Summit for a New Global Financing Pact is set to take place in Paris on 22-23 June against the backdrop of increasingly stressed economies juggling persistent challenges, from global health issues to climate change, while being undermined by outdated global systems. The Summit aims to address this issue by taking stock of the financial tools available to break inefficient cycles and facilitate better access to funding in climate and development.
This represents the bi-annual meeting of the High-Level board of the AEF. This meeting will be focusing on the global governance redesign and will offer an opportunity for the co-chairs of strategy groups to provide updates on the areas of cooperation of the AEF.

At 76th United Nations General Assembly, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, Africa Investor, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) presented the new and innovative Regulation as a Stimulus economic model and urged African governments to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through regulatory reforms so as to enhance the continent’s socioeconomic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
