Richard is AfGIIB’s Senior Advisor for Governance and Compliance, and brings to AfGIIB, the skills of a highly experienced, commercially-minded, results-orientated, compliance, governance and risk professional, who has held senior executive appointments in the UK, US, EU and Gulf institutions, and was a representative on President Macron’s OnePlanet Sovereign Wealth Fund Initiative and also served on the Investors Advisory Board of the Softbank Vision Fund from 2017-2021.
Richard is a UK Chartered Accountant, with over 40 years of a combination of auditing and assurance, compliance, regulatory and governance experience, in top-tier institutions in investment banking, investment management, retail banking, oil and gas consultancy and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest Sovereign Wealth Funds.
His 35 years’ experience in governance roles in the institutional investment community and the financial services sector (including 20 years’ at C-suite level) and 4 years’ in Technology Investment oversight governance, enables him to provide world class and unique counsel to AfGIIB and its investment partners.
